Newsome and Holmfirth Town are on their way to the West Riding County Amateur League.

The moves mean the Huddersfield District League will lose their two leading teams.

Newsome have just won the District League title for the second season running.

Holmfirth Town were runners-up, having won the Division II title last year.

The others are Pudsey-based Route One Rovers and Bradford’s Thornton United.

If Newsome and Holmfirth get the green light to go into Division II, Huddersfield will have 10 County Amateur teams.

This season’s champions Bay Athletic, runners-up Golcar United, Storthes Hall and Huddersfield YMCA are set to play in the top flight.

DRAM Community, new Division II champions Honley, Kirkburton and Lepton Highlanders will be in Division I.
