Huddersfield Town Ladies aim for cup success at the second attempt on Sunday.

They face Preston North End in the FA Women’s Premier League Plate final at Guiseley’s Nethermoor ground (3.00).

Town were recently beaten 4-1 by FAWPL Northern Division rivals Sheffield FC in the Sheffield & Hallamshire FA Women’s Challenge Cup final.

Back in August, Town exited the FAWPL Cup at the first-round stage away to Newcastle United.

But since then the Plate competition has added spice to their season.

They have made it through to the final with a 5-2 win at current Northern Division I leaders Liverpool Marshalls Feds.

That was followed by a 5-1 home win over Chester-le-Street, a very tough 2-1 away victory at Midlands Division I title contenders Radcliffe Olympic and a 4-1 home semi-final win over Shanklin, the Isle of Wight side from the South-West First Division.

Preston sit two places above seventh-placed Town in the 12-team FAWPL Northern Division.

The Lancashire side were 6-2 winners in the league clash between the pair at Storthes Hall Park in December.

Town, however, have been on a good run of form recently and will be feeling confident as they make the short trip to the Vanarama Conference North venue.
