Huddersfield Town Ladies are joint top of the FA Women’s Premier League Northern Division after a third win in as many games.

Wolves were their latest victims, beaten 3-0 at Storthes Hall after a 3-2 midweek derby success at Bradford City.

Town, who head to Nottingham Forest on Sunday (2.00), have the same nine-point haul as Stoke City.

Laura Windle went close in the second minute, shooting just wide, while Beth Smith and Emily Heckler also came close.

Camille Clarke and keeper Laura Carter combined to thwart the visitors in the 38th minute.

Town were ahead within 60 seconds, centre-half Vicky Abbott playing in Debbie Hastings, who shot home.

Hastings lobbed narrowly wide early in the second half, but Town were looking a touch jaded after the Bradford game.

Carter tipped a free-kick onto the bar after 66 minutes before Town forced two late goals.

First Heckler ran through to finish strongly in the 83rd minute, then Hastings played in Kate Mallin in the 88th.

The Under 18s got their Sheffield and Hallamshire League campaign off to a bright start with a 6-2 win over Shaw Lane Aquaforce at Barnsley.

Jess Holland got a hat trick and Maddie Walsh, Emma Stirling and Megan Mirfield one each.

Sian Lewis was player of the match.

The Under 15s started their fourth season together with a 2-1 win over Doncaster Belles at Storthes Hall.

Town created most of the chances in the first half but were unable to finish as Tara Duce, Lauren Bullock and Laura Walker all shot over while Amy Broomhead missed when one-on-one with the keeper.

Ella Harris had the only shot on target, but it was saved.

The visitors began the second half much better and Town keeper Isobel Pare was kept busy.

A defensive mix-up proved costly when Doncaster went ahead after 64 minutes.

But Town then came to life, and Duce hit a post before Walker headed narrowly wide from a corner.

With 10 minutes remaining Duce played a neat pass down the left and Harris cut back inside a defender and finished well.

Duce and Harris then combined again, and while the cross was over-hit, Eleanor Smith fed Bullock to cross back into the middle where Broomhead steered home the winner.
