Huddersfield Town Ladies will be looking for revenge against Stockport County this coming Sunday in the Northern Women’s Combination after a 5-0 away defeat to the Lancashire side.

The game started very evenly with both teams testing each other out.

However, with the wind at their backs, Stockport started to apply the better pressure and in the ninth minute took the lead.

Five minutes later Town were two down but responded with a 16th-minute Katie Nutter header just over the Stockport bar.

Disaster struck in the 23rd minute when some very poor defending from Town gifted Stockport their third, and they went further ahead in the 32nd minute after a poor clearance led to a long range looping effort, giving Charlotte Oates in Town's goal no chance.

A minute later Emily Heckler was unlucky not to pull one back with a shot which hit the bar and bounced down on the line.

Stockport went five ahead before the break, although Town were unlucky not to score when Laura Windle’s shot was brilliantly saved.

Town were better in the second half – Nutter having a strong shot saved, Alice Linsell firing over from close range and Heckler going close.

Georgia Hamilton was named player of the match after an excellent display at wing back.
