Kirklees College’s footballers faced an unusual challenge as they agreed to take on Vanarama Conference Premier club Lincoln City’s Under 18 team in a friendly.

Lincoln are flying high in the Conference Youth Alliance League and brought several players tipped for big things with Football League clubs.

The difference in training and professionalism of the Lincoln side was clear and they raced into a three goal lead.

However, a good finish from Kirklees College’s Shane Eastwood pulled one back as the home side put a good spell together before half-time in which captain Edson Bangali had opportunities to make it level.

In the second half the College side could do little about the excellent play by Lincoln – eventually losing 6-1.

Kirklees College have already played games against Huddersfield Town’s youth side and beaten Stalybridge Celtic.
