The Get Smart Group Challenge Cup final at Warrenside on Sunday promises to be a real shoot-out.

League leaders and title favourites Linthwaite have 14-goal Courtney Allette leading their attack, while Wellington Westgate A – after retaining the West Riding Sunday Trophy 2-1 against Skybet at Woodlesford – have 15-goal Paul Pyke hunting for victory once again.

Wellington, who are joint third in the league, are also through to the final of the Huddersfield FA Sunday Challenge Cup, when they face Walker Hounds at Warrenside on April 26 (again 11am).

Linthwaite and Wellington Westgate A have shared the spoils in the two league fixtures this season, so it promises to be an intriguing showdown between the pair.

Wellington – sponsored by the Wellington public house – launched their Get Smart Cup campaign with a 4-0 win over Queen and, after a bye at the next stage, defeated Mooreside Colts 12-1 in their two-legged semi-final.

Linthwaite, who are backed by DS Recruitment Services and helped by the junior club, beat Dalton 8-5 over two legs in the quarter-finals before overcoming Meltham Victoria 10-2 in the last four.

Referee is John Gray, who is assisted by John Connolly and Josh Martin.
