Brighouse Town will come up against the Class of 92 in their first season as an Evo-Stik Northern Premier League side.

It’s been confirmed the promoted Toolstation Northern Counties East League champions will play in Division I North.

And that means two meetings with Salford City, recently bought by the famous former Manchester United stars.

Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and Gary and Phil Neville are investing in the club with the aim of eventual progression to The Football League.

Also on the fixture list will be Darlington 1883, formed from the ashes of the town’s former Football League club.

Having ground-shared at Bishop Auckland, they will play at Darlington Rugby Union Club’s Blackwell Meadows next season.

In addition, Brighouse boss Paul Quinn is set to pit his wits against Mossley and Ossett Albion, both once managed by his father Gerry.

Gerry Quinn led the original Emley (now Wakefield) into the Northern Premier League 25 years ago.

Also on the fixture list will be Bamber Bridge, Burscough, Clitheroe, Droylsden, Farsley, Harrogate Railway, Kendal, Lancaster, New Mills, Northwich, Ossett Town, Padiham, Prescot, Radcliffe, Scarborough, Spennymoor and Warrington.

Long-serving Stoke defender Andy Wilkinson has agreed a one-year contract extension, the club have announced.

The deal, which also includes the option of a further 12 months, will take the 29-year-old into a 14th season with the Potters.

Wilkinson, born in nearby Stone, fell down the pecking order during the 2013-14 campaign, making just six appearances, but remained keen to stay at the Britannia Stadium.

Wilkinson said: “I am very happy to sign again for Stoke. This is a club that I love and I want to stay at.”

Huddersfield Town will play in a pre-season friendly against Conference North side Guiseley on Monday, July 21 (7.45).
