The 14-match unbeaten run of Netherton Under 12s came to and end as they were beaten 6-0 by Ryburn United in the RCD Cup fourth round.

Fifth Division Netherton have already proved their promotion credentials with Cup victories over teams from higher divisions, but they were unable to repeat the feat against a strong Ryburn side who dominated from the off.

Oliver Vasely proved his value in the Netherton goal when he pulled off a terrific save to deny Matty Nicholson in the opening minutes, but he was unable to stop Ryburn grabbing an early lead when Isaac Burbidge met a William Amer right wing cross at the far post for an easy tap-in.

And Burbidge provided the assist for Bailey Dawson to double the visitors advantage after 20 minutes (0-2).

Curtis Fieldsend, Filip Wilk and Lucas White worked hard to get Netherton back in the game but, despite a number of near misses, the home side were unable to get on the scoresheet.

Despite the defensive efforts of Callum Haigh, Harry Knight and the outstanding Ben Preston, Netherton could not hold a Ryburn side whose power and pace was simply too much, and further strikes from Emerson Bradley, Ben Ormerod (2) and Dawson put Ryburn into the last eight.

Two goals from Second Division Shelf were not enough to deny First Division Honley in the Under 13 Cup, but extra time was required to separate the two sides.

Sheard, Moore and Greenwood were on target for Honley who progressed to the last eight with a 3-2 victory.

Unbeaten Littletown Under 18s remain firmly on track for a League and Cup double after a solid League victory over one of the nearest rivals for the title.

A single goal from Uppermill could not prevent the league leaders from collecting another three points.

Goals from Binns, Whitley, Grogan and Senior sealed a 4-1 win for the Spen Valley side.

Clifton Rangers Under 14s added another three points to their hopes of promotion to the top division with a comfortable victory over Westwood.

Westwood were unable to find the home side’s net as goals from Horsfield, Whewall, McDade, Wilstrop, Owen and Sterling sealed a 6-0 victory for Clifton.

Netherton took a step closer to the Under 17 Division Two title with a narrow win over Linthwaite.

Two goals from Linthwaite kept the game on a knife edge but replies from Jordan Porter, Charlie McLeod, Craig Williams and Daniel Russell finally sealed a 4-2 victory for Netherton.

In Division Three of the same age group, promotion-chasing Gomersal produced a fine win at Battyeford.

A single strike for the Battyeford was not enough to deny the visitors who replied with goals from Conor Carter, Clough, Steven Reynolds, Glenn Aspindle and Charlie Taylor in a 5-1 win.
