Former Huddersfield Town physio Alan Young is urging fans to take in a junior match with an international flavour this Wednesday.

As well as running his own practice in the Holme Valley, Young coaches Shelley Under 14s, who will face a touring Australian side at Storthes Hall (2.00).

The Queensland State Football Federation Under 15 squad will play two games in Huddersfield, one against Shelley the other against Newsome High School and Sports College.

The matches come between games in Scotland and London, and Young said: “It’s an exciting prospect.

“We understand that they are not just any Under 15 side, but a very good group of players who will be somewhat larger than our Under 14 team.

“But rest assured, we will be at it on the day, and we intend to give them a good run for their money.

“We’ll stick with the way we’ve always played and give them a good lesson in pure football!”

Shelley’s first team suffered a 4-1 home defeat by Robin Hood Athletic in the second round of the West Yorkshire League Cup.

They are ninth in the Premier Division.
