Walkers Arms are in cup action tomorrow in the West Riding County Sunday Trophy second round.

Their away trip to Overthorpe Sports will hopefully get under way after it was abandoned due to fog last weekend.

Two KSL teams are through with Wellington Westgate and Linthwaite having booked their places in the third round.

Wellington battled back twice in their tie to edge past Halifax outfit Waiters Arms, who reached the semi-finals of the competition three years ago, 5-4 at home.

Holders Wellington will now face Britannia AFC from Tadcaster, who they have played in the last two seasons, away in the third round.

Wellington were 2-0 down with strikes from Waiters’ Billy Grogan and Ashton Richardson, but they battled back to 2-2 just before half-time with Anthony Haigh scoring from the spot and Paul Pike grabbing the second.

In the second half Waiters restored their two goal advantage with strikes from Richardson and Lee Wood, but Wellington fought back with Steve Marshall getting their third and Haigh levelled matters with another spot kick.

James Waggot in the visitors goal made some vital saves, particularly when Haigh burst through with just the keeper to beat, and Marshall then looked like he must score but he took his eye off the ball and the chance slipped away.

With seven minutes to go man-of-the-match Haigh ran on to a through ball from Lee Bradshaw and put a low drive past Waggot to complete him his hat trick and secure victory.

Linthwaite thrashed Westleigh Wizard 15-3 away and are drawn away again in round three against Armthorpe Village Crusaders.

In the league the game between FC Nightingale and Meltham Victoria Park ended in a 1-1 draw with Meltham opening the scoring on 35 minutes through Dean Sykes, who was set up by man-of-the-match Josh Hill.

Just 10 minutes into the second half the home side grabbed their equaliser when Michael Pell scored.
