Wellington Westgate are up for the cup - three times over!

Already through to the finals of the West Riding FA Sunday Trophy and the Kirklees Sunday League’s Get Smart Group Challenge Cup, the Leeds Road Playing Fields-based team booked their place in the Huddersfield FA Sunday Challenge Cup showpiece.

They were 2-0 winners over Field Head, and will now face Towngate, of the Heavy Woollen League, who beat Dalton 5-1 in the other semi-final.

The showdown with Towngate, who are based at Barr Street, Bradley Mills, will be at Warrenside a week on Sunday, April 27, at 11.00.

Welly, for whom attacking midfield ace Anthony Haigh scored both goals against Field Head, play the first of their trio of finals on Thursday.

Northorpe United, another Heavy Woollen side, are their opponents in the West Riding clash.

It’s at county headquarters at Woodlesford, with a 7.30 kick-off.

The Get Smart final is between Welly and Dalton at the Welfare Ground in Emley this Sunday (10.30).

For Field Head, it was a second semi-final setback after they narrowly lost out to Dalton, 4-3 after extra time, in the Get Smart competition.

Welly could yet land the Kirklees Sunday League title.

While they are 10 points behind leaders Black Bull, they have four games in hand on the Shepley side.

Bull were 13-0 winners over Welly B on Sunday.

Scott Sykes scored five wile Adam Hill and Gino Dignan both got hat tricks.
