Leeds United's goal blitz either side of the break meant misery for Huddersfield Town fans and stand-in manager Mark Lillis.

With new head coach David Wagner watching from the directors' box , Town gave it a go in the first match after Chris Powell's sacking.

But they were left stunned when Mirco Antenucci and Chris Wood struck in first-half stoppage time of the Sky-televised lunchtime Championship clash watched by a tickets-issued crowd of 17,118 (3,831 from Leeds).

Then Alex Mowatt arrowed in a long-range shot eight minutes into the second half to ensure a third defeat in four games for Town, and a
fourth defeat running in derby clashes with Leeds.

Lillis made four changes to the last team selected by Chris Powell, two of them forced by the absence of centre-back Joel Lynch (suspension) and Jamie Paterson (hamstring injury).

Murray Wallace returned in defence and Joe Lolley up front, while midfielder Dean Whitehead, available after a one-match ban, replaced
Emyr Huws, who dropped to the bench.

There was also a change in goal, with Joe Murphy playing instead of on-loan Aston Villa man Jed Steer.

Leeds were unaltered after their 1-0 midweek victory over Cardiff City at Elland Road.

Town started on the front foot, but the momentum of the game was broken by a head injury to Leeds defender Liam Cooper, who appeared to
collide with teammate Scott Wootton as the visitors prepared to take a corner.

The game was delayed for eight minutes, and the added time was to prove very meaningful.

Up to the 45-minute mark, the best of the scarce chances had fallen to Town, who were forced to replaced injured midfielder Phil,Billing with
Huws after half an hour.

Lolley, Kyle Dempsey and Harry Bunn had shots blocked or saved, and the home side had been the more adventurous, so it was a big setback
when Antenucci stretched to poke home the opener after Leeds broke speedily down the right and Stuart Dallas out in a low cross.

Things got even worse when a slip by Martin Cranie allows Antenucci to drive forward on the left, and with the Town defence stretched and keeper Murphy left flummoxed, Wood shot home to leave Lillis's charges facing an uphill task.

The next goal was always going to be vital, and while Bunn and Dempsey both had efforts saved by Marco Silvestri, Town stopper Murphy was
beaten all ends up by Mowatt's 25-yard strike eight minutes into the second half.

It was the midfielder's second sizzler in successive games after his winner against Cardiff at Elland Road.

Lillis replaced Wells with James Vaughan, and the substitute came close with a shot which Silvestri saved one-handed.

Then the stopper twice thwarted Bunn as Town, whose final change was Duane Holmes for Lolley, kept pushing for a way back into the game,
but without success.
