Huddersfield Town scored three times in nine minutes to stun Leeds United fans into silence and seal a sensational derby victory.

Substitutes Harry Bunn and Karim Matmour and top scorer Nahki Wells did the damage as Town came from behind for a crucial Championship triumph.

It was action all the way at Elland Road, where Wells missed an early penalty before Stuart Dallas put Leeds ahead.

Skipper Mark Hudson, who had a fine game, started the comeback with an equaliser four minutes before the break.

It was Town's first win in five meetings with Leeds, and how their supporters lapped up a sweet victory at the home of their nearest Championship neighbours!

Team News

Leeds: Silvestri, Berardi, Bamba, Bellusci, Taylor, Bridcutt, Murphy, Mowatt, Dallas, Doukara, Antenucci.

Huddersfield Town: Steer, Smith, Hudson, Lynch, Husband, Whitehead, Billing, Paterson, Lolley, van La Parra, Wells.

First Half

Rajiv van La Parra made his Huddersfield Town debut after getting a week's training under his belt following his switch from Wolves on loan with a view to a permanent move.

His inclusion for Sean Scannell was one of five changes in the wake of the 3-1 home loss to Championship leaders Burnley.

Leeds-born United-supporting left-back James Husband replaced Jason Davidson, with whom Wagner had clear-the-air talks this week after the Aussie criticised his selection policy.

Philip Billing returned to midfield in place of Emyr Huws. Having completed a three-match ban, he missed the Burnley game through illness.

Jamie Paterson was back in place of forward Karim Matmour while Joel Lynch took over at left-back from Martin Cranie.

After a cautious start by both sides, Sol Bamba's trip on Joe Lolley brought Town an 11th-minute penalty - but Marco Silvestri saved from Nahki Wells.

Leeds stepped on the gas, and skipper Sol Bamba headed over from a free-kick before Stuart Dallas headed home Liam Bridcutt's cross for a 22nd-minute opener.

Lynch prodded a close-range effort over from Paterson's free-kick before Billing's low shot was palmed away by Silvestri.

But Town were slowly but surely building up the pressure and captain Mark Hudson headed home a 41st-minute equaliser from Paterson's corner.

Second Half

Town began the second half with Bunn on in place of van La Parra, and had Leeds penned back early on.

Billing's bobbling volley was held by Silverstri before a Leeds counter-attack needed with Mirco Antenucci putting a low drive from the left across the face if goal and just wide.

Town made two more changes as Matmour replaced Paterson and Huws came on for Billing before Bunn volleyed them in front from a 69th-minute corner.

The visitors went further ahead in the 73rd minute when Wells set up Matmour to score his first goal for the club from close range.

Then Wells drilled in a 77th-minute shot to spark wild celebrations among the 2,082 travelling fans in a 29,311 crowd, the biggest of the season at Leeds.
