Huddersfield Town travel to Aston Villa tonight to take on a second relegated Premier League side in four days.

Villa's struggles in the top tier last campaign were well documented and alarm bells must have been ringing after the opening-day defeat to Sheffield Wednesday and EFL Cup first-round exit to Luton Town.

Goals from Rudy Gestede and Jack Grealish last weekend steadied the ship for the midlands club as they beat Rotherham at the weekend, but the Terriers will prove a tougher test.

Town have won their two Championship fixtures so far, claiming the scalps of Brentford and Newcastle United.

Although belief is beginning to bud around Town, Villa fans are less convinced by the Terriers' credentials, with one Aston Villa blogger writing: "Can the Claret and Blues see out a tense result at home, if that's how the match turns out, or can they control a match against a side a little better than Rotherham?"

We spoke to Gregg Evans, Aston Villa reporter for the Birmingham Mail, for a more level-headed Villa take on tonight's match.

How has the start of the season gone for Aston Villa?

"Finally, Villa have lift-off after a win against Rotherham on Saturday. It was the first victory in six months and one that really lifted a disgruntled fanbase.

Who will win: Aston Villa or Huddersfield Town?

"Opening day defeat to Sheffield Wednesday was difficult to take and then the EPL disaster at Luton Town left many fans fearing for another miserable campaign. But now Villa have something to build on."

What are the fans expecting from the club this season?

"Expectation levels are quite low to be fair. Most supporters reckon they will finish top six but obviously the majority desperately want automatic promotion. Recent dealings in the transfer window have helped lift the mood."

Where do you think Villa will finish?

"I still think they will make the top two. It will be tough and there will be plenty of competition. But I reckon the home form will eventually see them through."

David Wagner is looking for a third straight Championship victory

What do you make of Town's chances this year?

"Started the season really well and look a decent outfit. Still an unknown quantity under David Wagner as not many people know much about him. I think a mid-table finish is still most likely, though."

How many points do you expect Villa will take off the Terriers?

"Four. Starting with three tonight!"
