TOWN'S new Blue and White Foundation will go into the Christmas period with over 1,000 members.
Organiser Tracy Nelson, who is already making the first in a series of weekly cash draws, had 1,010 people involved at start of business today.
It's a tremendous tonic to have hit four figures, and Town are planning a big New Year drive to fill the list of 2,000 Foundation members.
"There is a tremendous amount of interest with the Foundation taking off and we hope that between January and May we can get to the maximum membership," said Tracy.
"Our first draw winner, Stanley Atkinson, will collect his £500 at this weekend's match against Oxford, and there are many other benefits for members, details of which are available from the club.
"It is proving very popular and we had a big Christmas party last week for the Foundation and the On The Move agents, and everyone had a great time.
"We just hope that with a big new push in the New Year we can get to our target, because every penny is helping to put the club on firm foundations for the future."
Funds go through the club's new Development Association to help the Academy.
Town are also looking to employ a full-time sales executive to deal with the Foundation, because Mrs Nelson is also involved with corporate commercial business.
"We are drawing up a job specification and anyone interested can contact me on 01484-484140," she added.
Meanwhile, lottery organiser Pauline Howard has issued a reminder that the club's Christmas Draw takes place in Kingsgate tomorrow.
Anyone with tickets still to submit should do so to the McAlpine tomorrow or to Kingsgate before 7pm, when the draw takes place.
