There are just seven days to go until Huddersfield Town discover their opposition on the opening day of the 2014/2015 season when the Football League fixtures are released.

Town will face six new sides this season, with relegated Premier League trio Norwich City , Fulham and Cardiff City being joined by the promoted trio of Wolves, Brentford and Yorkshire rivals Rotherham United from League One.

But what can Mark Robins and his side expect from next season's other clubs? In part two of this feature, Tom Marshall-Bailey assesses the fortunes of the other 11 teams in 2013/2014 and how they might fare if the season started tomorrow, as well as looking at Town's own chances.

LEEDS UNITED

The winners: Ross McCormack - The Scottish sensation was the sole beacon of light on an otherwise utterly miserable campaign for Town's rivals but McCormack revelled while the chips were down and finished as the division's top scorer with 28 goals.

The losers: The debacle at boardroom level over the last six months has left both fans and players completely in the dark over club affairs. Massimo Cellino must move to eradicate his errors and back the new manager with funds in the transfer market this summer.

2013/2014 ranking: 2/10

What they need to do this summer: The club must pull together and decide the direction they are headed in. Cellino's lofty ambitions of reaching the Premier League by 2015/2016 will require sound financial decisions.

Predicted 2014/2015 finish: 16th

MIDDLESBROUGH

The winners: Albert Adomah - His 12 league goals were one of the primary reasons behind Boro managing to secure a top-half finish last season and also helped him cement his spot in the Ghana World Cup squad. He will hope to push for a starting berth.

The losers: Try as he might, Tony Mowbray was unable to find the right formula at Boro and Aitor Karanka will hope to build on a promising end to the season after inheriting a side who had consistency problems under the former manager.

2013/2014 ranking: 6/10

What they need to do this summer: Securing another deal for Danny Graham, who impressed during his stay at the Riverside, either on loan or permanently would aid Karanka significantly in his bid for a play-off push and turn frustrating draws from last season into wins.

Predicted 2014/2015 finish: 14th

MILLWALL

The winners: Ian Holloway - His managerial performance after taking charge of the Lions was nothing short of brilliant and restored his reputation in the game after it had taken some damage during Crystal Palace's early season woes in the Premier League.

The losers: Few will have considered themselves the losers after launching a great escape but striker Andy Keogh endured a difficult season and has been let go. The biggest fall guy of the Lions' inability to score enough goals.

2013/2014 ranking: 6/10

What they need to do this summer: Allowing Holloway to put his stamp on the squad by bringing in players that fit his calibre and placing trust in a manager who has been there, done it and worn the t-shirt in this division.

Predicted 2014/2015 finish: 20th

Ross McCormack was Leeds United's star man in 2013/2014 but will he be able to replicate his stunning form this time around?

NORWICH CITY

The winners: Robert Snodgrass was the standout performer in the Canaries side by far and scored some crucial goals, not least in the 1-0 win over Tottenham, which helped keep Chris Hughton in a job longer than he probably ought to have been but was the most valiant battler in the club's ultimately doomed quest to avoid relegation.

The losers: Ricky van Wolfswinkel underwent one of the quickest downward trajectories in recent football history and, with his standing plummeting as a result, Norwich hold a player on high wages who is misfiring. New boss Neil Adams will hope to get the best out of him at Championship level.

2013/2014 ranking: 4/10

What they need to do this summer: Adams faces a difficult task in offloading the under-performers from the squad but one of the key necessities is finding a playmaker type who can supply the bullets for Van Wolfswinkel and new signing Lewis Grabban.

Predicted 2014/2015 finish: 5th

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

The winners: The emergence of young Jamie Paterson was a real bonus for Forest as the exciting forward netted eight league goals and registered four assists in his breakthrough campaign. Only Andy Reid proved a more productive attacking outlet with nine goals and 12 assists.

The losers: Billy Davies - The Scot somehow managed to alienate every section of the club and the decision to keep all press away was particularly baffling. It was no shock to see him lose his job once the results turned against him.

2013/2014 ranking: 6/10

What they need to do this summer: Having brought in Matty Fryatt and lined up Lars Veldwijk, new boss Stuart Pearce has an abundance of striking options available to him. He must now turn his attentions to the defence, which was the club's achilles heel last term.

Predicted 2014/2015 finish: 7th

READING

The winners: Adam Le Fondre - The Royals striker impressed once more last term and, having failed to secure promotion with the Royals, he will now be tasked with firing Cardiff City to an immediate return to the Premier League.

The losers: Jem Karacan - The Turkish midfielder's season was cut short early on by injury and he only managed seven first-team outings all season. The Royals missed his creative spark in the centre of midfield.

2013/2014 ranking: 6/10

What they need to do this summer: Replacements for Le Fondre and the released Jobi McAnuff are essential requirements and the defence could do with tightening up too.

Predicted 2014/2015 finish: 13th

ROTHERHAM UNITED

The winners: Ben Pringle - The direct wideman was a sensation for the Millers last season, registering three of his 13 League One assists alone in the two play-off semi final legs against Preston North End.

The losers: Wes Thomas - While the majority were able to revel in the club's promotion, Thomas was released and, while he is on the verge of a switch to Birmingham City, he will miss out on what is sure to be an exciting season for Steve Evans' side.

2013/2014 ranking: 10/10

What they need to do this summer: Heed the lessons of previous sides to come up and spend the money they have available wisely and on various areas to cope with the step up in class they will have to deal with.

Predicted 2014/2015 finish: 21st

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY

The winners: The versatile Liam Palmer seized a spot at right-back this season and refused to let it out of his grasp. His ability to play in various positions was invaluable to the Owls, however, and helped see him scoop the club's player of the year award.

The losers: Gary Madine - The shamed striker was jailed for two cases of assault towards the end of 2013 and was only released in February. Spent time on loan at Carlisle United and scored twice, but the 23-year-old faces an almighty battle to convince the club of his worth again.

2013/2014 ranking: 5/10

What they need to do this summer: If the Owls hold any hope of progressing up the table, then signing defenders is a must. Only eight sides conceded more last season and Stuart Gray must amend this problem to take the pressure off the frontmen.

Predicted 2014/2015 finish: 19th

WATFORD

The winners: Troy Deeney was the star of the show for the Hornets, finding the net 24 times on his way to finishing as the division's third top goalscorer. There might be a chance of a play-off push if they can fend off interest from other clubs.

The losers: Manuel Almunia - The Spaniard was unable to shake off his tag of 'flop' goalkeeper and made some costly errors last season which led to him being released at the season's end.

2013/2014 ranking: 6/10

What they need to do this summer: Bolster the squad with players who know exactly what it takes to get out of this league. They almost benefited from their group of foreign loanees when they lost to Crystal Palace in the play-off final two years ago but the mix wasn't right last season.

Predicted 2014/2015 finish: 10th

WIGAN ATHLETIC

The winners: Jordi Gomez - The Spaniard was instrumental in Wigan's march to the play-offs and scored a winning penalty in the Latics' famous FA Cup win over Manchester City. His form earned him a move to Sunderland.

The losers: Owen Coyle - With the foundations Roberto Martinez had put into place, coupled with the personnel available, the Wigan job ought to have been the perfect one but Coyle struggled to get his side into any sort of momentum, with the club's Europa League campaign hardly helping matters.

2013/2014 ranking: 7/10

What they need to do this summer: If the Latics can make additions at both ends of the field, they have a real shot at promotion. Their midfield options are strong and they still possess plenty of Premier League, let alone Championship, know-how.

Predicted 2014/2015 finish: 3rd

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS

The winners: The way in which Kenny Jackett came in, assessed the club from top to bottom and transformed it in the space of 12 months was nothing short of miraculous. League One football did not sit well at a club with a huge following and tradition. Jackett ensured it was only a brief stay in the third tier.

The losers: The 'bomb squad', including Roger Johnson and Jamie O'Hara, who were left marginalised by their travails and the group's success without them. They were the only people within the club who could not truly toast and savour success.

2013/2014 ranking: 2/10

What they need to do this summer: The foundations are in place, with Carl Ikeme, Richard Stearman, Kevin McDonald and Nouha Dicko forming a strong backbone to the side but if Wolves want to realise the potential they have in upsetting the odds and gaining back-to-back promotions, a 20-goal-a-season striker is required to take the weight off Dicko's shoulders.

Predicted 2014/2015 finish: 6th

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN

The winners: Adam Clayton - With James Vaughan out injured for prolonged periods and Nahki Wells feeling his way into life at Town, it was left to Clayton to steal the mantle and lead the club forward. He did so and has surely thrown his hat into the ring for captaincy duties as a result.

The losers: Jonathan Stead - The rangy striker re-signed last summer for his hometown club but, aside from a winner against Leeds United, his contribution was pitiful at best. Even a loan spell at Bradford City failed to inspire any return to form for the striker.

2013/2014 ranking: 6/10

What they need to do this summer: Replacing Calum Woods and former skipper Peter Clarke are just two issues currently in Mark Robins' in-tray. Midfield presence is required to complement the current technical crop while a physical but mobile striker would also fit the bill.

Predicted 2014/2015 finish: 17th

This will be re-visited and revised prior to the start of the new season to take into account any changes made over the summer.
