PAWEL ABBOTT is overjoyed to have ended his barren scoring spell and pledged: "Now I want more goals!"

Town's 24-year-old leading scorer is in positive mood and hoping to add to his tally of 13 against Tranmere at Prenton Park tonight (7.45), when he'll partner loan hero David Graham.

"I'm back now and I definitely want more goals," said a beaming Abbott.

"I want to play my part for the team but, having got that goal under my belt, I'm going to start scoring again.

"I really was delighted to score. It didn't seem like I could get a goal from anywhere and, even last Saturday, I was expecting the keeper to come and batter me before I could get my header in.

"I did a bit of a `turtle neck' because I was expecting him to smash me, but it was great to see the ball go in.

"Hopefully, it will take a bit of pressure off me and I can relax and concentrate on each game.

"If I do that, then maybe the goals will just come naturally again, like they were at the beginning of the season."

Abbott added: "I enjoyed playing alongside David Graham.

"Even though he's still working on his fitness, he looks sharp, he's a good player and he's very talkative on the pitch, so you always know where he is."
