TOWN'S Academy are in action tonight against University College Dublin's Under 21 side (7.00).
The match at Bellfield marks the start of a week-long trip to Ireland for a 19-strong squad who don't kick off their League programme until a week on Friday at Watford.
This is a third pre-season trip to Ireland for Town's youngsters and Academy director Gerry Murphy hopes it will be just as successful as previous years.
"We get a lot out of the week away and it's great preparation for the FA Academy Premier League," said Murphy, who squad trained last night after a ferry trip from Liverpool.
"While we've had some build-up matches against Under 18 opposition, these Under 21 fixtures are good, tough test for the lads and it gives the staff a chance to see exactly who is performing and who needs a bit more work for the season ahead.
"All the lads who have travelled will get a run-out and I'm sure they will also benefit from working and living together as a squad."
Coaches John Dungworth and Chris Howarth have joined Murphy on the trip, along with physio Dave Buckby.
Town have a second match against Shelbourne on Thursday.
