TEENAGE Town frontman Lucas Akins helped Northwich Victoria to a first win of the season on his club debut.
Sent out on loan to the Cheshire club on Thursday, the 18-year-old impressed in a 1-0 triumph over Rushden.
Northwich remain bottom of the Blue Square Premier (previously the Conference) but will have been lifted by their success.
Lee Steele’s 18th-minute goal claimed the points, although Vics had a late scare when Lee Tomlin broke through but was denied by keeper Scott Tynan.
Northwich have a crunch clash with second-bottom Stafford Rangers on Saturday.
Meanwhile former Town manager Peter Jackson chalked up his first win as Lincoln manager at the fifth attempt.
Notts County were beaten 2-1 at Sincil Bank as the Imps climbed off the bottom of League II.
Lee Frecklington struck 15 minutes from time.
The hosts took a deserved lead two minutes before the break when Ben Wright got behind the defence and poked the ball past Kevin Pilkington.
County drew level five minutes after the break with a 25-yard strike from midfielder Gary Silk.
But Frecklington settled it with a low drive from the edge of the box.
Lincoln go to Nottingham Forest for an FA Cup first-round replay tomorrow.
