GOLCAR Con suffered the agony of conceding a late goal to crash out of the Rollinson Cup second round.
Beaten 6-1 by Huddersfield Irish in the league, they were in no mood to be brushed aside this time, even though they ended up losing 3-2 to a goal three minutes from time.
Both teams had chances to win as the score remained at 2-2 for a long period, but it was Irish who cashed in.
Keiran Ryan (2) and Anthony Haigh were the scorers for Irish and David Allan and John Conheeney notched for Con.
The other tie featured two sides from the Kirklees Sunday League and Woodfeld Park overcame Barge Albion 5-2, Oliver Hughes netting a hat trick for the winners, helped by strikes from Neil Robshaw and Dean Siddiq. Webster and Salm replied for Barge.
In the semi-finals at Leeds Road Playing Fields a week tomorrow (Marsh 27) it’s Marsh FC v Black Bull Shepley and Woodfield Park v Huddersfield Irish Centre (both ties kick off at 10.30).
In the Armitage Leisure Supplementary Trophy, Club Kirkheaton beat Leeds Road Wanderers 3-2.
A Daniel Bradley brace and Delroy Campbell accounted for the goals, while an own goal plus Ashley Walker scored for Wanderers.
Escorpians, as usual, set off at a great pace and Daniel Bojar soon had two goals to his credit to put them 2-0 up against Lloyds OB.
But they were also guilty of missing a number of chances in the first half to extend this lead.
However Lloyds, with the help of two 40-year-olds in Warren Green and Paul Goldsbrough, came out revitalised in the second half and took over as the best side to run out 3-2 winners thanks to strikes by Ryan O’Connor (2) and Dean Bell.
