DIVISION I Athletico Monkey booked their place in the semi-finals of the Kirklees Sunday League Challenge Cup with a 4-0 victory over Division II side Barr Street.

Despite the scoreline, Monkey never really hit top gear, but Dean Siddiq’s opener direct from a free-kick settled their nerves.

Ben Dobson grabbed a second when he was fed by Matt Elston and Alex Griffiths tapped-in a third after Will Davidson’s cross.

Liam Walton rounded off the scoring following a goalmouth scramble.

Monkey now face Craven at Leeds Road PF tomorrow week.

Division I’s solitary clash was between Town Boys and Britannia Sports and finished 3-3.

Boys’ goals came from Les Shade, Richard King and Waqas Raza.

In-form Field Head fought out a 2-2 draw against Woodfield Park at Royds Hall after recovering from two down. Luke Gilman and Steven Todd bagged for Field Head, who now sit third in Division II.

Walpole Community and HD One were also held at stalemate, but Walpole will feel more satisfied with the 2-2 scoreline.

Anton Simms netted both Walpole’s goals, with Martin Newham among the scorers for leaders HD One.
