BAY Athletic will lead the West Riding County Amateur League’s challenge in the FA Inter League Cup.

Huddersfield’s defending league champions – they’re going for a record-breaking fourth consecutive title this season – have eight players in the squad for Saturday’s supplementary round tie against the Birmingham and District FA.

The match takes place at the Hollybrook ground in the Erdington district of the second city, with a 2.00 kick-off.

The County Amateur side, also including players from Kirkburton, Golcar United and Marsden, will warm up with a friendly against AFC Emley at the Welfare Ground tonight (7.45).

Neither Premier Division leaders Bay nor nearest rivals Albion Sports has a game on Saturday, but Kirkburton slipped to fourth after losing 3-2 at Tyersal, who go third.

Adam Bell got both goals for Burton, one of them a penalty, while Jason Battye and Jon Newiss netted as Marsden, in eighth, won 2-1 at Hunsworth.

Callum Meade (2) and Carl Aitkin scored for 10th-placed Golcar as they won 3-2 at Tingley.

AFC Emley Reserves kept up their push at the top of Division I with a 1-0 win at Overthorpe. Scott Hargreaves scored.

Bay Athletic Reserves beat Bronte Wanderers 3-1 through Karl Jones, Daniel Steele and Daniel Naidole.
