DAVID HEAGNEY made it 13 goals in 12 consecutive games with two fine strikes, as AFC Emley won 2-1 against Frecheville CA.

The win see’s Emley progress to the second round of the Sheffield and Halamshire Cup, and also makes it 8 games without defeat for Darren Hepworth’s side.

Both of Heagney’s goals came directly from free kick’s, with the in-form striker hitting two unstoppable shots past Rhys Hancock.

Emley’s leading scorer looked the most likely to get a goal, and on 28 minutes he obliged. A free kick from 30 yards was rifled into the top corner, giving Emley the lead.

The home side continued to trouble unbeaten Frechville, but in the 68th minute an error from Sean Hazelden gave the visitors a way back into the game, as a poorly hit back pass was poached on by Matthew Hunter.

Frechville were reduced to 10 men just four minutes later, as captain Matthew Stagg brought down Heagney whilst through on goal.

Heagney scored his 14th goal of the season in style, as he curled in the resultant free-kick.
