KIRKHEATON Rovers are through to the semi-finals of the West Riding FA Trophy.

The District League Division II side won 2-0 in Saturday’s quarter-finals clash with Thornes in Wakefield to seal a meeting with Hunslet Club at the county association’s Woodlesford headquarters in Leeds on Wednesday, March 21 (7.30).

The other semi will be between Beeston St Anthony’s and the winners of the outstanding quarter-final clash between Seacroft WMC and Wetherby Athletic.

The last Huddersfield side to make the final were Storthes Hall, beaten 3-0 by Whitkirk Wanderers in 2009.

Lepton Highlanders and Skelmanthorpe are the first two clubs through to the semi-finals of the Huddersfield FA Challenge Cup.

West Riding County Amateur League First Division promotion chasers Lepton edged an exciting clash at District League top-flight team Netherton 4-3.

Ash Flynn grabbed a hat trick while JP Flynn go the other goal for Jimmy Martin’s side.

Skelmanthorpe were 2-0 winners at Slaithwaite United while their District League Division II rivals Scholes came through their third-round tie against Coach and Horses at Linthwaite, with their 2-0 win sealing a quarter-final clash with another Works League side, Aimbry, on Saturday, March 17.
