LEPTON Highlanders moved into the last four of the West Riding County Amateur League Cup after a 6-2 quarter-final win over AFC Emley Reserves.

Highlanders took the lead on nine minutes through Daniel Facey, Ashley Flynn then tapped in from close range and Daniel Walker completed a stunning five-minute blitz when he headed home from a Paul Pyke cross.

Emley fought their way back into the game and clawed a scrappy goal back on 24 minutes as Jonny Irving fired home.

Lepton almost instantly restored their three-goal lead with a Flynn strike, but the goal of the game came on 30 minutes from the right foot of Tom Halton, who directed a stunning first-time drive into the top right hand corner.

With the game in the balance going into the second half, Lepton stepped up into top gear.

In the 57th minute a Josh Cooke looping header over Emley keeper Nathan Ryan ended any hopes of a fightback and, on 65 minutes, Walker beat the offside trap to score.
