GOLCAR CON go into tomorrow’s Armitage Leisure Supplementary Trophy final as slight favourites.

They take on Club Kirkheaton in the 11am showpiece at Longfield Avenue, Golcar, having beaten their opponents 4-2 only last week.

Craig Ruscoe scored all four goals – Daniel Bradley and Liam Oldroyd replied – as Golcar Con finished the qualifying six-match league with most points.

Huddersfield Irish Centre missed out on a treble as they were defeated 3-2 by Towngate in the Huddersfield FA Sunday Challenge Cup final.

Irish Centre, who won the league and Rollinson Cup, fell to goals by Steve Richards, Danny Naidole and former Irish player Ashley Flynn for the Heavy Woollen side.
