I’D NEVER have put Nicky Forster down as a potential manager.

But the seasoned striker seems to be doing a decent job down at our old rivals Brentford.

It doesn’t seem two minutes since we were facing each other in THAT play-off semi-final at Griffin Park (it was actually 1994-95), when Darren Bullock held his nerve to score in the penalty shoot-out and send us to Wembley, where we beat Bristol Rovers.

We’re back in West London on Tuesday, and it’s another big game for us as we seek promotion back to the Championship.

Nicky was always a quiet kind of bloke, but the people at Brentford, a club he’s served very well over the years, clearly saw something in him when, after the departure of Andy Scott, they gave him until the end of the season to show his management mettle.
