Anthony Gerrard has provided Huddersfield Town with a big lift by returning to full training.

The 27-year-old centre-back could now play for the first time in pre-season at AFC Emley tomorrow night.

He suffered a calf injury at the start of July.

“Anthony was a big loss for us,” said boss Mark Robins. “He needed to get fitter and worked very hard over the summer, but then he damaged a calf and has missed all our build-up games.

“He has worked hard in the gym, though, and to see him back out on the pitch is a massive lift.”
