TOWN Ladies open age side ran up their biggest win of the season with a 6-1 thumping of Tadcaster in the Yorkshire and Humberside Premier Division.

The home side missed two chances inside the first five minutes, but Kate Mallin broke the deadlock after 10, only for Tadcaster to reply just before the interval.

In the second half, a strong left-foot shot from Andrea Haigh restored Town's lead, and Jo Atkinson quickly made it 3-1.

Mel Sherwood netted Town's fourth on 60 minutes and Atkinson added a further two to complete her hat trick and a resounding win to take into next Sunday's match at League-leaders Hull City.

The Under 16s went even one better, notching seven against Rotherham - but twice they had to come from behind.

The visitors took the lead after 10 minutes before Reagen Cartledge equalised for Town.

Rotherham went ahead again before Jess Williamson and Kate Mallin netted to give the home side a 3-2 interval lead.

In the second half Rotherham began to tire and further goals from Williamson and Mallin were followed by a brace from captain Sarah Kennerdale.

* Four of Town's Under 16s were in the West Yorkshire Schools side who beat Merseyside 2-1 in the regional group stage of the Inter-County Trophy.

Sarah Pollard, Steph Foster, Kate Mallin and Reagen Cartledge played, representing Castle Hall, Holmfirth High and Moor End Schools.
