Following his recent visit to Leeds General Infirmary, courtesy of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, HTSA would like to pass on our best wishes to Town full-back Tommy Smith.

Tommy is now recovering from his head injury and making good progress and we hope to see him back in action very soon.

In just the few days since his accident Tommy has been inundated with good wishes and not just from Town fans.

We have received a heart-warming message from Leeds United supporter Bernard Gillatt: “Glad to hear (Tommy) Smith okay, it’s only a game, best result of day is that he is okay. Good luck rest of season. From a Leeds fan, we’re all Yorkshire aren’t we?”

On a similar theme of supporters supporting each other, the donations page –https:// www.justgiving.com/Huddersfield-Town-Supporters – in support of the ‘Plastic Surgery & Burns Research Unit’ at Bradford University has had a fantastic response.

It prompted a statement from Alan Carling, Chairman of the Remembrance Panel for the Bradford City FC Supporters Board.

He paid tribute to the fundraising efforts with the following statement: “This expression of solidarity from our rivals on the pitch is most warmly appreciated by Bradford City fans and the club. To raise £3,000 in such a short space of time is a real tribute to Huddersfield Town supporters.”

It is great to know that this is appreciated not only by Alan but also by supporters of Bradford City football club too. Excellent work Town fans!

These are two great examples of the common bond between all supporters (near and far), which is separated by only 90 minutes of rivalry on Saturday afternoon.

At last week’s ATT (Voices Panel) meeting stadium, caterers Sodexo gave a comprehensive presentation of the changes that they are making.

It is clear that they are working hard to improve both the service and the quality of the refreshments available on match-days.

In order to do this they are keen to receive any feedback, positive or negative, concerning the changes that they have made recently.

Please let your views be known through the dedicated thread on DATM or by contacting HTSA through the usual channels.

HTSA would like to thank Andy Booth, Nigel Clibbens, Anne Hough and Ross Wilson for giving up their evenings last week in order to attend meetings with supporters.

This is greatly appreciated and helps to promote a much better understanding between supporters and the club particularly after last weekend’s unfortunate and disappointing defeat.

One hot topic for both meetings was the way that social media is often used by the vocal minority and to a certain extent can leave the silent majority out of the debate.

If you would like to express your views about how the match day experience might be improved for you why not join HTSA – “The Voice of the Fans”. We look forward to your continued support of our support for other supporters!

Finally, HTSA would like to offer our best wishes to all those players who moved on to new clubs during the recent transfer window and, of course, extend a very warm welcome and much success to striker Ishmael Miller as he joins the Town squad from Blackpool.
