REUBEN NOBLE-LAZARUS aims to leave his hometown club looking over their shoulder on Saturday.

The Barnsley attacker was born in Huddersfield and was still at school in Newsome when he created history on his debut in the 3-0 Championship defeat at Ipswich in September 2008.

At 15 years and 45 days old, he became the youngest player to figure in the Football League.

He was too young to be paid for his appearance from the bench – Barnsley boss Simon Davey joked he would be given pizza and a ham sandwich for his efforts – and had to catch up on the school work he missed.

Now 19, he made his eighth start and 34th appearance in all for the Reds in Saturday’s 2-0 home win over Hull.

Noble-Lazarus is under contract until 2015.
