Brentford are hoping for better things from their Under 21 side against Huddersfield Town in West London on Saturday after their Under 18s were beaten 3-0 at PPG Canalside.

Goals by Liam Coogans, Ronan Coughlan and Rekeil Pyke took the sting out of the young Bees in the Professional Development League clash.

Brentford coach Jeremy Steele said: “We needed to be better than we were.

“Normally you are frustrated because there are patches of play where you think you can build on that, but we never had that.

“They were by far the better team, they played well and to be honest 3-0 was a low scoreline. We were way below the standard.”
