Brighouse Town claimed an emphatic 9-0 win away at Lincoln Moorlands as their run towards potential league glory continues this Saturday against Worksop Paramore.

Town have jumped up to second place in the Northern Counties Premier just five points behind leaders Tadcaster Albion, but still with three games in hand.

Brighouse are unbeaten in 11 games, winning eight of those in the process and they have only been beaten once at home all campaign and hold the best goal difference record, thanks greatly to this thrashing.

Saturday though, provides a tough test for Paul Quinn’s side as their opponents Worksop Parramore have already got the better of them this season prevailing 2-1 back in January.

Worksop have won five on the run and lie in fourth place, and their latest outing was a 1-0 at home to Parkgate. They are in action again tonight away at Heanor Town and Saturday will be their seventh game in 14 days being one of the few teams in the league who have a longer backlog than Brighouse.

Momentum is certainly with Quinn’s team, who were two up in the first 10 minutes through Tyrone Gay and Ryan Hall at Lincoln MR.

Tom Matthews marked his return to the side with a goal.

Jason Price and Ernest Boafo then took turns to score a brace each before Daniel Naidole got in the act to make it eight before Boafo rounded off proceedings with a penalty to complete his hat trick and the most comfortable of nights for Brighouse as they keep marching on.
