TOWN boss Peter Jackson hasn't ruled either Tom or Nathan Clarke out of Saturday's League I trip to play-off chasing Brentford.

Both brothers were forced off during Saturday's 2-2 home draw with Colchester, who claimed a last-gasp leveller to end Town's outside chances of a top-six finish.

Tom, 17, damaged a hamstring while making a slide tackle while Nathan, 21, sustained a gashed lip in an accidental mid-air collision.

Jackson reported: "Tom is under treatment at the ground and we're hoping that by Thursday, he'll be able to return to training.

"Nathan needed surgery on one of the nastiest injuries of its type that I've ever seen.

"His lip was split from his mouth to the base of his nose and he had 20 stitches, both internal and external.

"They are due to come out on Thursday, so we should have a better idea of how things look then.

"Obviously it's uncomfortable to eat and talk at the moment, and there's no way he can risk any contact work, but Nathan has been able to continue with his general fitness training and join in the warm-up and warm-down."

Saturday's game marked a 38th appearance of the season for Nathan and an 11th for Tom, who made his first-team debut in the 2-1 defeat at MK Dons in February.

With Efe Sodje having joined Yeovil and Steve Yates still out with a calf injury, Jackson is a little light on centre-backs.

Against Colchester, he had to move striker Andy Booth into central defence alongside David Mirfin, who started at right-back.

Nat Brown or John McCombe could come in to plug any gaps down at Griffin Park.

While Jackson is optimistic over the Clarkes, he has confirmed that skipper Jon Worthington will be out until pre-season.

The 22-year-old midfielder had surgery on his right knee on Saturday, and the manager said that while the operation had gone well, the ligament damage, suffered in training, was worse than thought.

"Initially we thought it would be two to three weeks out, now it's four to six, and there's clearly no point in rushing," he said.

"Jon will be able to recover fully, and he'll be given a programme of exercises to follow before we all come back for pre-season, by which time he should be fully fit."

Sixth-placed Brentford visit Wrexham, who are battling against relegation, tonight.
