NAT BROWN is keen to impress in tonight's LDV Vans Trophy assignment against Morecambe at the Galpharm (7.45).

The 23-year-old replaces the injured Andy Holdsworth at right wing-back for only his second start of the season and is eager to make a mark.

"Every player wants to be in the first team and I'm no different," said Brown, who played 72 minutes of Saturday's 3-3 draw against Bristol City after Holdsworth hurt his left shoulder.

"I want to catch the gaffer's eye and be a regular in the starting line-up, not always on the bench.

"It's bound to be a battle because all the lads give the gaffer 100% and Andy Holdsworth is a really good player.

"He's unlucky to have been injured, but it gives me a chance and I want to do well. I'm not bothered where I play, either, as long as I'm in the starting line-up."

Brown is excited about the LDV and the chance of a final at the Millennium Stadium.

"We want to do well in the League first and foremost but it would be nice to win a little Cup along the way as well," he smiled.

"There was a great atmosphere at Cardiff in the play-offs, so it would be great to go there again."

On the penalty which proved a turning point at Ashton Gate, Brown added: "It was a shambles of a decision and even Lita didn't think it was a penalty and he was supposed to have been fouled. It's upsetting still."
