EASTMOOR will probably not want to see Kirkburton again.

It was Burton’s first trip to the King George V playing fields and they dished out a 10-0 thrashing to the hosts.

And the superb tally could have been more, as both Jordan Tindle and Michael Reynolds had strong claims for penalties turned down.

The result moves Burton to within three points of leaders Marsden with both teams having played each other twice.

Adrian Smith fired the visitors ahead after two minutes before a Brendan Aspinall free-kick was turned away for a corner and Reynolds’ set-piece was met by a bullet header from Aspinall into the top corner for a 2-0 lead.

After 12 minutes of play Burton were 3-0 up when Lee Bradley chased a lost cause which the defender should have coped with easily, but his back-pass to the keeper was short and he nipped in to score.

Bradley thought he had made it 4-0 soon after but his effort was ruled offside, then he had a chance to make amends when he was put in by Reynolds, but the keeper saved.

Eastmoor’s woes worsened when they were reduced to 10 men on 25 minutes when a midfielder was dismissed after a second booking, this time for dissent.

Reynolds fired Burton into a 4-0 lead at the break and the goals just kept coming in the second period, with Ashley Flynn beating the home defence for pace to add a fifth. Beaming boss Dean Calcutt made a couple of substitutions before Burton scored a sixth from a well-worked move, Ryan Robinson passing the ball out to captain Rob Barnes and Flynn finishing in style.

Eastmoor had a rare chance when they won a free-kick just outside the penalty box after a forward had been brought down by Ben Hughill, but the No11 struck the shot wide.

Former Emley and Accrington player Calcutt threw himself on for the last 20 minutes and it didn’t take him long to make an impact.

He received a precision pass from Barnes down the left, cut inside the full-back and produced a classy finish to make it 7-0.

And the player-manager should have scored soon after when he was put through by Flynn and was one-on-one with keeper, but he shot wide.

The eighth goal was the best of the lot. Scott Bissett rolled the ball out to Nick Reed and Capewell and Barnes both got touches before Calcutt squared the ball for Tindle to finish with ease.

Flynn added a ninth from six yards out and Calcutt completed the rout with a fine indivudual effort.
