DANNY CADAMARTERI faces a key week on the training ground as he steps up his recovery from a knee injury.

The striker who last featured in the derby defeat at Leeds on December 8 is set to switch from a treadmill to grass as he continues a specially formulated running schedule.

If he can follow a five-day programme without problem, club physio Lee Martin will give him the green light to step things up.

Martin hopes the former Leicester man, who also suffered a hamstring problem earlier in the campaign, will be able to join in full training in another fortnight.

Town’s England Under 19 goalkeeper Simon Eastwood is now working as normal after being cleared by the consultant who operated on his foot injury.

A final x-ray has shown full healing of the fracture, which has kept Eastwood out of all but one reserve game since September.

The academy product was on the bench for the second-team showdown with Coventry the week before last.

And he’ll hope to get the call to face Walsall reserves in Wednesday’s Pontin’s Holidays League Central Division clash at the Banks’s Stadium (2.00).

That game was due to be played last week, but was twice postponed because of waterlogging.

The outstanding reserve match against Leicester at the Galpharm has now been fixed for Monday, April 28 (7.00).
