DANNY ADAMS returns to Town duty at Millwall tonight (7.45) with boss Peter Jackson telling his team: "I want action, not words."

The players have spent the last 10 days licking their wounds in the wake of the 3-0 home hammering by Oldham, when the under-fire manager described their second-half display as "embarrassing".

The defeat was 14th-placed Town's third in four League I games, and the 1-0 FA Cup setback at home to Blackpool added to the gloom around the Galpharm as well as providing a 10-day break from competitive duty.

Jackson has used the lay-off to put his players through extra hours on the training ground - and he is desperate to see the results in South London.

Millwall might be third from bottom, but having watched them battle for a goalless draw at Bradford in Friday's FA Cup second-round tie, Jackson said: "It won't be easy."

But he will remind his players of their encouraging away form of late (three wins from the last five games on the road) during final preparations for the meeting with Willie Donachie's men, who have yet to be beaten in a home league match since the former Scotland international took over the reins after Nigel Spackman's departure in late-September.

Jackson, linked with the Millwall job before it was confirmed that Donachie was stepping up from caretaker to permanent boss, said: "I remain convinced we can still challenge for promotion, but it's time to stop talking and start producing.

"The players' response to the Oldham defeat has been very positive, and I've been pleased with our work on the training ground, but it won't count for anything if we don't do the business against Millwall."

Adams returns from a four-match ban imposed after his second red card of the season in the 3-0 home defeat by Brighton on September 28.

Teenager Joe Skarz has impressed as his deputy, but with the Juniors in FA Youth Cup third-round action at Luton on Wednesday (7.00), Jackson decided against taking him to the capital.

"Joe has come in ahead of schedule and done very well, and I am delighted with the way he has played and trained during the time Danny has been out.

"But at this stage, I feel we need some experience in the side, so Joe has stayed behind to concentrate on preparations for the Youth Cup match."
