It's celebration time for Holmfirth’s Nicky Clee and former Town captain Lee Sinnott after Altrincham’s promotion to the Skrill Conference top flight.

Left winger Clee played the full 120 minutes as the Cheshire side, managed by Sinnott, beat Guiseley 2-1 after extra time in the Conference North play-off final.

Clee, who once played for Holme Valley Academicals in the Huddersfield District League, had a hand in the dramatic winner.

It came in the last minute of extra time and was scored with his first touch by substitute Greg Wilkinson.

The win puts Altrincham, where Clee has played since 2009, back in the Conference’s national section for the first time since 2011.

Former Town defender Andy Holdsworth was in the Guiseley side for a game watched by 4,632 at Moss Lane.

Sinnott’s son Jordan is a current Town player and had a spell on loan at Altrincham during the 2012-13 season.
