Bolton Wanderers have boosted their coaching staff with the signing of Peter Reid.

The former Manchester City boss, who last managed in India with Mumbai City in 2014, has agreed to return to football to assist Trotters interim manager Jimmy Phillips.

Chief Executive Dean Holdsworth told the club website: "Peter's experience, standards, drive and personality will without doubt give the club a lift."

Ings moved to Anfield last summer on a free transfer, but because he was under the age of 24 Burnley are entitled to a compensation fee.

The former QPR boss joined the Rams as a Football Advisor until the end of this campaign, and is set to work alongside current boss Darren Wassall.

And Redknapp is quoted in the Derby Telegraph as saying: "No, no chance. I will not be manager of Derby County this season.

"The chairman said Darren is managing to the end of the season.

"If for any reason he doesn't stay to the end of the season and he goes, I will not take over as manager. I will go as well."

Paul Lambert is to decide on the future of Blackburn Rovers' out of contract stars at the end of the season.

Simon Eastwood, Tommy Spurr, Matt Kilgallon, Chris Taylor, Lee Williamson, Nathan Delfounso and Chris Brown could all leave for free come July.

Taylor and Delfounso have now gone out on loan, but Lambert said no decisions would be made until after discussion with the Venkys, due to take place over the international break.

And manager Carlos Carvalhal is refusing to put a timescale on his return to action.
