Chelsea are set to make a shock move to re-sign Josh McEachran - the midfielder they sold to Brentford just 12 months' ago.

The Evening Standard claims the Stamford Bridge outfit are still keeping tabs on his career and could look to bring him back.

McEachran was highly regarded when he came through Chelsea's Academy and earned comparisons with Jack Wilshere, but was sold to the Bees for £750,000 last summer after disappointing loans at Swansea, Middlesbrough, Watford, Wigan and Vitesse Arnhem.

Gus Poyet has now been installed as the clear favourite to take over at Nottingham Forest.

The former Sunderland manager is now 4/7 to be the successor to Dougie Freedman at the City Ground.

Martin O'Neill remains second favourite but has Euro 2016 with Ireland to consider, while Poyet is a free man after departing AEK Athens.

QPR are set to lose high earner Junior Hoilett from the wage bill, according to reports.

The winger, who signed from Blackburn in 2012, is out of contract in the summer and his current wages mean it does not appear as if it will be extended.

And Premier League side Swansea are apparently close to winning the race for his signature, amid interest from Borussia Monchengladbach and Besiktas.

Sunderland are reportedly set to make a summer move for Bristol City skipper Aden Flint.

The defender is said to be a target for Sam Allardyce as he looks to strengthen his back line with John O'Shea and Wes Brown aging.

And Flint is on the radar, whether or not they manage to escape relegation from the Premier League.

Birmingham City manager Gary Rowett has admitted he might be interested in bringing Robert Tesche back to St Andrews.

Rowett watched the midfielder play for Nottingham Forest recently, but cautioned that other clubs would be interested in Tesche.

“He is a free agent and one we obviously tried to sign previously,” Rowett said.

“I speak to Robert’s agent quite a lot anyway because he has helped us with a few players in Germany and when we have gone over to look at players, so I will always give him a ring.

“Like any other team if Forest don’t re-sign him or if he chooses to see what happens elsewhere, then of course we would potentially be interested."

The successor to Paul Lambert at Blackburn Rovers will have to manage his squad within the limits of FFP - and with the imminent loss of Premier League parachute payments.

And recruitment has already started after Lambert confirmed he will not be back at Ewood Park next season.

Rovers director Mike Cheston told the Lancashire Telegraph: “We’ve started the process.

“We’ve already built up a shortlist, which we’re still compiling, as we’re still getting applications.

“Between the board, key staff within the club, and India, we’ll look to see who to interview and then take it from there."
