Championship leaders Burnley aim to build on their derby success against Blackburn Rovers when they visit Fulham on Tuesday.

The Clarets, who come to Huddersfield Town on Saturday, are unbeaten in 12 league games and seeking a fifth straight win.

Burnley completed a first double over arch-rivals Blackburn for 37 years and boss Sean Dyche said: “For me it’s another three points and a big win.

“But for the supporters it’s a different thing. It’s fantastic for the fans and the town.”

Second-placed Middlesbrough are ready for a challenge at resurgent Rotherham United.

The relegation-threatened Millers have won two on the spin under former Town boss Neil Warnock, defeating neighbours Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

Boro boss Aitor Karanka, whose side beat Wolves 2-1 on Friday, said: “It could be the most difficult game for the rest of the season.

“Everyone expects us to get three points and thinks it will be easy, but for me it’ll be the most difficult as they’ve won the last two.

“Under Neil Warnock they’re a team, he’s motivated them and he’s a good manager.”

With Hull City on FA Cup duty, Brighton and Hove Albion can move up a place to third.

They host Sheffield Wednesday chasing a fourth consecutive clean sheet and a third win in that sequence.

Boss Chris Hughton hailed centre-back Connor Goldson, who is keeping skipper Gordon Greer, fit again after hamstring trouble, out of the side.

“He is on the back of three clean sheets and he plays a part in that,” said Hughton of the former Shrewsbury player.

“He is a young centre-half in what is very much an experienced position and he is doing very well at the moment.”

Fifth-placed Derby County aim to follow up their win over Town when they travel to QPR.

The Rams have loaned former Liverpool, Blackburn, Aston Villa and Leeds United defender Stephen Warnock to Wigan Athletic for the rest of the season.

Bristol City have signed Sunderland defender Adam Matthews on loan for the rest of the season.

The Welshman has only played twice for the Black Cats since moving from Celtic in the summer.

And Robins boss Lee Johnson is confident he can reignite the 24-year-old’s career in the Championship.

“He’s a quality, young signing who is hungry to play,” said Johnson, whose 20th-placed side visit Wolves.

“He moved to Sunderland for £2m and hasn’t got in the team enough, so he’s keen to come here and prove himself.

“People may think ‘why do we need another right-back?’

“It’s a number of things, really. We’re in the market for good players and that’s what Adam is.

“He’s quick with good technique. The risk and reward with any loan is how quickly you can get the player up to speed and get them integrated.

“It gives us the ability to move Luke Ayling into central midfield if we want, which is the position where he began, and we’re still looking in other areas.”
