Aston Villa are hoping to appoint new manager Roberto Di Matteo by the end of the week.

The club, who were relegated from the Premier League in dismal style last term, are searching for a successor to Remi Garde.

And while the Guardian reports the deal with Di Matteo , who won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2012, is not yet done they hope to be able to confirm shortly.

Garry Monk is the odds-on favourite to be the new Leeds United manager - but the surprising second favourite is former Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean.

And Italian website Tuttomercatoweb are reporting he is the main candidate to succeed Steve Evans at Elland Road.

However, Monk has been linked with the position across the English media.

Celtic and Rangers could be set to battle Blackburn Rovers for the signature of Sunderland striker Danny Graham.

The forward joined the Ewood Park club on loan in January and has expressed a desire to stay.

But Rovers are yet to appoint a new manager, meaning the Glasgow giants could be set to swoop in.

Graham has also been linked with Birmingham City, Wigan Athletic and Preston North End.

Crystal Palace are keen on a move for Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul according to the Croydon Advertiser.

The Dutch stopper is set to be fit for pre-season after missing nearly the whole of last term with a cruciate injury.

And with one year left on his contract at St James' Park, reports are linking with him a move to London to be reunited with former boss Alan Pardew.

Brighton have been told they will have to pay £2.5m to land Bournemouth striker Glenn Murray.

The Argus reports that the Seagulls want him to replace the departed Bobby Zamora and James Wilson, and Murray's son is already in their Academy.

However QPR and Fulham are also apparently interested, but the high fee could be a stumbling block with Murray set to turn 33 in September.

West Brom are keen on a deal for QPR defender Steven Caulker.

Steven Caulker

The Birmingham Mail claims that Caulker, who was on loan at Liverpool in the second half of last season, has been identified as an ideal target to form a centre back partnership with James Chester or Jonny Evans.

However, Crystal Palace are believed to have had a bid rejected already, while Sunderland are also looking at the defender.
