Leeds United manager Garry Monk is hoping to raid his old club for two players, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Yesterday rumours surfaced that defender Kyle Bartley was on his hit list, today Leon Britton is the subject of the rumours.

The midfielder is now surplus to requirements at the Liberty Stadium and has played just 32 games over the past two seasons for the Swans.

Newcastle United are set to go head to head with Aston Villa for the signature of Fulham striker Ross McCormack.

New Villa owner Tony Xia has promised a "strong striker" will come in this summer and Roberto Di Matteo will be given the necessary funds to secure one.

McCormack, who scored 21 goals last season, fits the bill and has a £12m release clause in his contract.

But the Express and Star believe Newcastle are also on his track as they look for an immediate return to the Premier League.

Nottingham Forest have been linked with winger Floyd Ayite following the appointment of Philippe Montanier as the new head coach.

Montanier is expected to return to his native France for signings to bolster the club, and reports across the channel claim that Ayite is a target.

The 27-year-old is currently with Bastia and it would cost around €2m to bring him to the City Ground.

Middlesbrough could return to the Championship to bolster their goalkeeping options, with Aston Villa's Brad Guzan a reported target.

So says the Birmingham Mail, who believe the stopper is being looked at as competition for current no.1 Dimi Konstantopoulos on Teesside.

Guzan shouldered plenty of blame for Villa's poor 2015/16 campaign and Villa have been linked with Juventus keeper Nicola Leali.

Walsall have rejected a £250,000 bid for Tom Bradhsaw from Rotherham United.

The 23-year-old has scored 20 goals in each of the last two seasons for the Saddlers and is valued closer to £1m by his club according to the Express and Star.

Bradshaw's former club Shrewsbury Town are due 20% of any profit as part of the deal that took him to Walsall in 2014.
