Leeds United have joined Rangers in monitoring Dundee striker Greg Stewart.

That's according to the player himself, who has been talking to the press on the club's pre-season tour of Austria.

The forward scored 11 times for Dundee last season and has one year left on his contract.

Stewart told The Courier : “Sometimes I think ‘wow’ — three years ago I was working at Grangemouth (refinery) and now top teams like Leeds United and Rangers are interested in me.

“I want to be somewhere I can play my best football. Whether it’s at Dundee we’ll just have to wait and see. I have ambitions, just like most people. I want to play at the highest level I possibly can.”

Aston Villa are playing a waiting game to see if they can secure the services of Chelsea starlet Patrick Bamford.

Wolves have added their name to the list of suitors chasing former Manchester United midfielder Nick Powell.

The 22-year-old was released by United in the summer and is a free agent.
