Huddersfield Town fans are expected to get their first sight of Chelsea signing Kasey Palmer on Friday.

The England Under 21 international is all set to make his debut against FC Ingolstadt in Austria after sitting out the goalless draw with Werder Bremen.

Very highly rated as a No10 at Stamford Bridge, the 19-year-old has joined head coach David Wagner’s squad for the season (there is no break clause in the January transfer window, so he’s at the John Smith’s until next summer).

Palmer – who says he is “buzzing” to be part of Town’s new-look Championship make-up – appears to have overcome a few niggles to feature, even though it may be a cameo against the Bavarian Bundesliga side, who loaned Elias Kachunga to Town.

Wagner says Town fans “will enjoy watching Kasey Palmer” this term, especially after the attacking midfielder capped off last season as a winner of the Toulon Tournament with Gareth Southgates England youngsters.

Palmer was also a member of of the Chelsea Under 21 side who won the UEFA Youth League title.

Wagner said of Palmer: ““He is a very skilful player with good football intelligence and we now have the time to work hard with him in training to help him understand our identity on the pitch.

“I believe we can help Kasey make the next step in his career and send him back to Chelsea a better player once the season is over.”
