Chris Lowe is hoping to be available for Huddersfield Town's clash with Southampton next weekend.

The left back was substituted in the first half at Vicarage Road after picking up a knock on his left foot, but is determined to be back for the trip to St Mary's on Saturday.

After the impressive win at Watford last weekend, the German defender said: "I'm alright, I think it's just a hit in the wrong area on my left foot.

"I couldn't kick a ball after that so I couldn't play further."

He added: "It was just a case that I couldn't kick a ball so it was the right decision to take me off because it makes no sense to play when I can't kick a ball."

Lowe doesn't expect the knock to rule him out for the upcoming clash against Mauricio Pellegrino's men however, and is aiming to keep his starting spot in the Town team for a fourth successive match.

"We will see how the pain goes through the week," he said.

"I think it's just a pain thing but it was just on the wrong area on my left foot.

"I have to use it always so we'll see how the next week is and then we will decide but I hope that I can play next week."
