CHRIS BRANDON has the scent for more goals.

The 29-year-old grabbed only his third of the season from the penalty spot in Town's midweek win at Blackpool.

Now, with bottom club MK Dons at the Galpharm Stadium tomorrow and 12 more games to follow that, Brandon is hoping to push for 10-plus.

"It was great to score the other night and, hopefully, it will give me the confidence to go on and get some more," said Brandon.

"Sometimes it's difficult when you're playing in wide positions to get into as many scoring situations as you would like whereas, if I was playing in the middle, I would definitely be wanting to get into double figures.

"If we get more penalties I'm certainly up for taking them, but the main thing is that we keep winning and keep well up there in the hunt for automatic promotion."

Brandon is keen to reward the fans for their backing all season.

"They are ambitious and they believe in us, but sometimes they get a little bit impatient - especially in a dip like we've had," he explained.

"I know that's understandable because they want us to do well, but everyone must realise we are in a great position to push for automatic.

"If someone had said at the start of this season we would be fifth, just four points off the lead with 13 matches to go, we would have taken it.

"And, with great wins against Colchester and Blackpool under our belts, we are going into the MK Dons game with a hell of a lot of confidence.

"We've got a lot of belief in the squad and, if we can make it nine points out of nine in the week, that will give us a great platform for the run-in."
