Chris Powell has revealed how a bowl of pasta and an afternoon of go-karting helped drive his Huddersfield Town players to their four-point Easter haul.

The boss was keen to break up training during the fortnight’s international break which preceded the games against Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich Town.

“We had an Italian lunch and an afternoon out and I think it gave us all a bit of a lift,” said Powell, whose side scored a first win in eight against Ipswich.

“Having those two weeks without a game gave us the opportunity to do something a bit different, and it was great fun.

“It was interesting to see how competitive the players were when it came to the go karting.

“We were operating in pairs and Ishmael Miller and Radoslaw Majewski were the winners.

“I’m not saying where I finished!”
