TOM CLARKE has been recalled from his loan spell at Bradford City after Town star Joe Skarz suffered a training-ground injury.

Caretaker manager Gerry Murphy, preparing for Saturday’s home League I clash with Walsall, acted quickly after the left-back damaged an ankle.

Town had a 24-hour recall facility because versatile Clarke was in the second month of his Valley Parade stint.

“With three other players in their first month on loan, and therefore without the recall option, we decided to bring Tom back to strengthen our own squad,” explained Murphy.

Town have a ready-made replacement for Skarz in Robbie Williams, but Clarke, 20, has also played at left-back on occasions.

He has made seven appearances for the Bantams, five of them starts, the most recent Saturday’s home FA Cup defeat by Leyton Orient.
